| The Labor Department released its latest jobs report today, revealing that hiring slowed modestly last month with employers adding 223,000 jobs. |
| The annual increase for average hourly wages rose 4.6% last month, down from 4.8% in November. That's good news for the Federal Reserve, which has been looking for a pullback in pay increases to beat back inflation and pause its aggressive campaign of interest rate hikes. |
| Most economists expect the U.S. to slip into a mild recession this year due to the Fed's rate increases. |
Free Wi-Fi coming to Delta passengers |
| Starting next month, Delta will offer free, streaming-quality Wi-Fi to all SkyMiles members. (Signing up as a member is free and can be done during a flight.) The announcement was made at this year's CES tech show in Las Vegas. |
| More than 500 aircraft will have free Wi-Fi available Feb. 1, and the service is expected to be available in Delta's full fleet by the end of next year. |
| And coming this spring, Delta is expected to launch a personalized landing page accessible through its planes' Wi-Fi. The Delta Exclusives Hub will allow travelers to steam content and play games from partners like The New York Times games, Paramount+, Atlas Obscura and others. |
