Tuesday, August 3

Good morning, it's Nathan saying hi again and happy Tuesday to you!

📚Back in my day, preparing to go back to school came down to ... getting school supplies and hoping I'd get classes with my friends.

These days, kids (and some parents) are getting tips from TikTok. Here's our Gabriela Miranda providing a rundown of TikTok videos with helpful back-to-school tips for parents and kids alike.

On to our ...

💡 INSIGHT OF THE DAY: If you're selling your home and you've got multiple offers, don't reflexively pick the highest one. There are other factors to consider. For example, if the highest bidder is attaching lots of contingencies to their bid, it might be worth considering the next highest. Here are some other things to keep in mind.

📰 And here are more stories you won't want to miss:

1. Could there be another round of stimulus checks due to the delta variant? Don't count on it.

2. Have you experienced a QR code menu at a restaurant since COVID began? Would you like it to stay?

3. Why might you want to increase your credit card limit? It turns out it could help your credit score depending on your circumstances.

4. You might need to show your vaccination card in some situations: So here's how to best store it on your phone.

5. Spirit Airlines had a ton of flight cancelations on Monday: But it wasn't due to a worker strike as rumored.

6. Trying to avoid the exorbitant rental car rates due to vehicle shortages? Here are several vacation destinations where you don't need one.

My favorite one on the list: Michigan's Mackinac Island, where cars aren't even allowed.

Could delta variant surge lead to more stimulus checks
As of right now, there are no plans for a fourth round of stimulus checks. But If the delta variant outbreak worsens, we could see more aid.
