Friday, November 5

Good morning, Daily Money friends, it's Nathan wishing you a happy weekend ahead!

🤔 The most misunderstood thing about President Biden's vaccine mandate for employers of 100 or more workers is that it's a vaccine mandate.

It's actually a mandate that their employers are vaccinated or are tested weekly for COVID. Employers can decide to offer testing if they want.

So I dug into the testing option. Who pays? How much will it cost? And where and when will the tests take place? I answer those questions here.

On to our ...

💡 INSIGHT OF THE DAY: It looks like September's disappointing jobs report wasn't so bad after all. In today's jobs report for October, the government reported that the economy added 235,000 more jobs in August and September than they previously thought. That goes along with 531,000 new jobs created in October, collectively driving the unemployment rate down to 4.6%.

📰 And here are more stories you won't want to miss:

1. Social Security can be confusing: Here are eight things you should learn about your benefits.

2. I hope you weren't counting on a fourth stimulus check: It's looking increasingly unlikely.

3. Zillow is backing out of its home-buying program: And now it's selling thousands of homes.

4. Gannett just reported its second straight quarterly profit: The company's digital subscription strategy is gaining momentum.

5. COVID misinformation is deadly: 500 doctors are demanding that Facebook release what it knows.

6. Pack your patience: Expect airport and border wait times to increase as officials adjust to new rules.

7. It's National Doughnut Day, not be confused with National Donut Day: Don't ask questions. Just check out this advice on how to make them at home.

7. The newest inductees into the Toy Hall of Fame have been announced: American Girl dolls, Risk and sand.

🏖️ I would like to be the first to congratulate sand on this accomplishment. May we all aspire to be as grainy as you.
