The Daily Money

Tuesday, November 3

We finally made it, Daily Money readers. It's National Sandwich Day. Also, not sure if you've heard, but there's an election happening.

It's Brett Molina back with the latest Money and Tech headlines on Election Day.

Today, the U.S. chooses a president. Both President Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden have presented plans for how to revive an economy battered by the COVID-19 pandemic. But which plan would boost growth faster?

While the polls are open, some businesses have decided to close or shorten their hours to allow their employees to vote. Here's a list of what's open.

Finally, admit it: whether it's due to the pandemic or the upcoming election, you have succumbed to stress eating. If you're going to do it today, you might as well do it for free. We won't judge.

Scroll down for more headlines, and thanks for choosing to read this newsletter.

Monday, November 2

It's Monday, Daily Money readers. Not only have we reached November, but Election Day is tomorrow. Let's review today's top stories in Money and Tech.

The potential economic recovery from the pandemic could encounter a harsh winter. Nearly 1 in 10 U.S. businesses said they plan to lay off workers during the final three months of the year, according to a new survey.

As if dealing with a global pandemic weren't enough, many retailers are worried about what might happen after Election Day.

Finally, we realize it's Monday, so let's focus on something we can all agree is fantastic: free food. Several restaurants are offering free or discounted food on Election Day.
