Daniel de Visé |  Personal Finance Reporter

Good morning! It's Daniel de Visé with your Daily Money.

Alphabet's Google does not have to sell its Chrome web browser, a federal judge ruled Tuesday in a landmark case against the internet search giant.

Student loan repayment is getting harder

On an August night in Texas, Pablo Pratt put his son to sleep and sat down with his wife, trying to make the numbers work. Their rent was due, daycare costs were piling up, and now, after changes to popular repayment options, $582 in student loan interest had quietly hit his account.

Pratt, 28, was one of millions enrolled in the Biden administration's Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan who were charged interest for the first time in a year. Changes to federal aid under the Trump administration are destabilizing some young people's financial futures.

Finally, here's a popular story from earlier this year that you may have missed. Read it! Share it!

A popular text message scam continues to rear its ugly head on phones across the nation, demanding money from consumers for fake unpaid tolls.

These texts generally try to impersonate the toll service in your state. Some will include links to a dupe website with a URL and a webpage designed to look like the real thing.

Here's what to know about the scam and how to check if you have unpaid tolls.

Pablo Pratt is one of eight million Americans enrolled on the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan who started accruing interest on their loans for the first time in a year. The move is already impacting his day-to-day finances.

He graduated and owes $130,000. Now, the rules have changed.

Student loan repayment is getting harder — and for many young Americans, it's becoming more confusing and emotionally overwhelming.

Daniel de Visé |  Personal Finance Reporter

Good morning! It's Daniel de Visé with your Daily Money.

Three decades ago, financial adviser Bill Bengen created a retirement principle called the 4% rule. It went viral.

Now, the rule is getting an update. We asked Bengen himself to explain.

Fewer Americans stopping for fast food

Fast-food restaurants, once the first stop for Americans looking to grab a meal before a long work day, are fighting to win back customers.

Breakfast sales across the fast-food sector have seen declines. Here are the reasons.

'Trump Accounts' are free money. Here's how to claim it.

Every child born between 2025 and 2028 is getting a baby shower gift from Congress and the president: a $1,000 deposit into a "Trump Account."

It's free money, but your baby can't spend it. Think of "Trump Accounts" as seed money, basically, to encourage children and families to save and build wealth for the many expenses of adulthood.  Here's how they work.
