We return today to the odd lawsuit between a sitting president and the Internal Revenue Service he oversees, which ended with an equally odd settlement, creating a taxpayer-funded account that could enrich the president's allies.

Now, a bipartisan group of 35 former federal judges is questioning the legality of the settlement.

Many older Americans are house poor

A whopping share of American homeowners are seniors, and many of them own their homes outright, having repaid their mortgages.

Even so, Medora Lee reports, many seniors now qualify as "house poor."
