Strong muscles, stronger immunityMuscle goes way beyond looks and strength, it’s actually a metabolically active tissue sending powerful signals throughout the entire body—which includes communicating with the immune system.
A new study found that following more than 458k people for 12.5 years found:¹
- The less muscle participants had, the greater their long-term risk of infection.
- Compared with people without sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass with age), those with probable sarcopenia had an 18% higher risk of developing infections or infectious diseases.
- For people with confirmed sarcopenia, that jumped to 34% higher risk.
Skeletal muscle releases molecules called myokines, which help regulate inflammation and influence immune cell function. Muscle also acts as a reserve of amino acids that the body draws on during periods of physical stress or illness.

The season of balance starts with recovery |
|
 |
Recovery is often framed as massages and ice baths, but what about the recovery time you should be prioritizing every single night in bed? Deep sleep recovery is the untapped potential you’ve been needing to fully crush your day, and the upcoming Fall equinox brings us a gentle reminder to rest, recover, and get intentional. MOLECULE designed their REFLEX mattress collection with key technologies to maximize the ROI of every hour in bed:
- LiftCOR® Body Boost is designed for up to 75% more supportive alignment, gently lifting the heaviest part of your body so your spine finds its natural curve.
- Ultra Air-Engineered® foams with up to 6x airflow form a dynamic cooling matrix.
- Lift360™ edge support reinforces the perimeter, maximizing your sleep surface and reducing sinking at the edges.
It’s time to get the most out of every night, so you can make the most of every day. |

Status, sex, & sports cars: What science says |
|
 |
In this special solo edition of the mindbodygreen podcast, Jason dives into what happens to men's hormone levels when they get behind the wheel of a sports car. He breaks down what happened when researchers handed a group of ordinary men the keys to a bright red sports car and a beige sedan, then measured their testosterone before and after each drive.
Tune in to find out what moved the needle. (Hint: it wasn’t the car!)
