@blinfisher

Good morning and Happy Friday! This is Betty Lin-Fisher with Friday's consumer-focused edition of The Daily Money.

As you do your holiday shopping, Temu may be a popular online site, but the Consumer Federation of America in a new report is warning shoppers to be careful.

The consumer advocacy group aggregated complaints and lawsuits by several attorneys general around the country against the low-cost retailer.

USA TODAY was given an exclusive look at the report and warnings.

Value shoppers are going to Walmart

Walmart has positioned itself to take full advantage of the affordability crisis as inflation-stressed shoppers are worried about the economy, reports my colleague Jessica Guynn.

The retailer said its sales jumped nearly 5% in the U.S. last quarter as shoppers visited more and spent more. E-commerce sales also increased more than 25% from a year ago.

It's not alone. Other retailers also expressed optimism about the holiday season while some others have cut profit guidance.

How Walmart is tackling the affordability crisis

As Trump and the Democrats play the blame game on the economy, shoppers turn to Walmart and discount retailers to survive the affordability crisis.

After her father is up for the day, he stays downstairs so she, her husband or another family member can keep an eye on him.
