ALL THE MONEY NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW | |
Hello and happy Friday! This is Betty Lin-Fisher with Friday's consumer-focused edition of The Daily Money. |
A Georgia man has gone viral for a series of TikTok videos where he says mislabeled meats atthree Walmarts led some shoppers to be charged more than double what they should have paid. |
In the series, Jimmy Wrigg, who lives outside Atlanta, chronicles finding chicken, ham and prime rib that he thinks are mislabeled and takes the meats to a scale to weigh. Wrigg's videos have been seen by more than 20 million people. | A customer views beef displayed for sale at a Walmart. Patrick T. Fallon, Bloomberg via Getty Images |
Do you care about the Super Bowl this weekend? |
Will you be watching Sunday's Super Bowl for the game or the ads? Or maybe you're among those who are thinking "The Super Bowl is this weekend? Who knew?" |
Still others just enjoy a Super Bowl party for the food and company of friends. |
I'll admit that I don't really care about the Super Bowl. My husband will be watching and I'll probably sit nearby doing other things. But I'll watch the half-time show and maybe the ads to see if there are any good ones that people will be talking about. |
If ad-watching is part of the fun, not all Super Bowl ads are super. 📺 Register and rate your faves at USA TODAY Ad Meter. |
Frozen concentrate is being discontinued |
Minute Maid is discontinuing its frozen juice products, including orange juice and lemonade, after 80 years. |
I have fond memories of making frozen orange juice as a kid, plopping that slightly softened chunk of frozen concentrate into a pitcher and adding water. |
