Good morning!
As someone with an education in nutrition, I can’t tell you how many people ask me about protein powder. Today, I’m sharing a recent study comparing two popular types so we can settle the debate on what’s “best” once and for all.
I’m also covering:

Whey protein vs. pea proteinPea protein has become a popular option for dairy-free folks, but how does it stack up to whey protein, a tried-and-true favorite in the fitness world? Researchers took a look:¹
- They put three forms of pea protein head-to-head against whey in 20 healthy young adults.
- Pea protein and whey were on par for keeping blood sugar and insulin balanced and offering satiety.
- Whey came out on top for essential amino acid delivery.
- Pea protein lacks adequate methionine (needed for building new proteins & repairing tissue) and leucine (required for muscle protein synthesis).
- Pea protein may also raise levels of uric acid, which contributes to gout, while whey protein lowers it.
Choosing a protein powder can feel overly complicated—read the latest comparison of pea protein and whey protein for an easier time deciding.

If you do one thing… take an easy runRunning doesn’t always have to mean pushing your hardest.
- 10 minutes of jogging at an easy pace (about 2 to 4 mph) was found to improve focus, better handle distractions, and boost mood and energy.²
- This could be because gentle running increases blood flow in the left side of the brain, which is involved in high-level thinking and attention. Higher-intensity running is associated with activating other regions throughout the brain.
- Mellow running also offers a repetitive, rhythmic motion that may feel calming.
